The Borough of Watchung is seeking a part-time, experienced Fire Inspector/Fire Subcode Official under the UCC. Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience preferred; 2 part-time days which require approximately 3 hours per day. Under the direction of the Construction Official, duties include field inspections and reviewing plans for new and existing buildings and structures to ensure compliance with the State Uniform Construction Code and enforce the same, and does other related work as required. Position requires excellent communication skills, and extensive knowledge of SDL is strongly preferred. Applicant shall possess a valid HHS Fire Subcode Official License and Fire Inspector license issued by the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs. A valid NJ driver’s license is also required.
